Palliative Care versus Hospice: what is the difference?
Presented by Tiffany Jackson, senior director of medical services
Lifelong Learning and Sun City Strong! are pleased to co-host this program to explain what palliative care is, how it differs from hospice and who may use it and how it is funded. Palliative care is for any patient and their families to provide relief from the symptoms and the stress of any serious illness. The goal of palliative care is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and his or her family. Palliative care is a relatively new concept in healthcare. Palliative care specialists work as adjuncts to the patient's primary clinicians. Please take this opportunity to learn from an expert how to deal with a current or future health problem that may benefit from an understanding of palliative care.
