LLL: Water Watchers Training
Lifelong Learning is sponsoring Water Watchers Training with the Catawba Riverkeeper on Monday, August 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 2 of the Lodge. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer helping to identify and report problems with polution of our waterways, here is more information about the event. Participation is limited to 25 volunteers so please register only if you plan to stay for the entire presentation. Thanks.
Who are Water Watchers?
Volunteers who have taken Catawba Riverkeeper's course on how to take action when they see pollution. They help identify, document and report pollution.
Why are Water Watchers important?
State and local environmental agencies are limited by small budgets and staffs. Volunteer Water Watchers help to identify and report problems. As a result our waterways are healthier.
This FREE training is great for kayakers/canoers, fishermen, boaters or anyone who enjoys spending time in the natural environment. You don't have to live on a lake or own a boat; local streams need advocates too! No prior knowledge in environmental science is required.
